International Conference on Ionic Liquids

Short description Ionic liquids (ILs) are among the most interesting compounds available to date and virtually every field of application has at least seen attempts of using ILs for advanced materials design. Among others, ILs have been used as solvents, templates, and reactants for advanced materials synthesis and design. ILs have provided access to hitherto unknown materials or materials with vastly improved properties. Moreover, ILs have also provided access to improved materials processing. In spite of these success stories, we still lack a quantitative understanding of how ILs can be used to rationally design complex materials and how these reactions can be controlled at a molecular and supramolecular scales. The conference aims at bringing together scientists from chemical synthesis and materials chracterization to all fields of application and to enable intense discussions on the potential of ILs in materials synthesis and design for all fields of advanced materials application.
